I have a medium case z3 torsen diff from a 2.8l model. It looks much the same as an e30 diff. Will it bolt straight in and work? I have read that

1) I might need to change the out put flanges?
2) the rear cover might be different slightly?
3) the speedo pickup is different?

thanks in advance!

As far as I remember, the one I have fitted straight in. The output flanges are different, but interchangeable. Mine came with one output flange missing, and is now fitted with one of each.
Socket on the speedo. pickup is different, IIRC., so a length of loom ,with plug, needs to be spliced to the E30 rear body loom.

Hi Brian,

Thanks for the advice. I'm in the same situation as the OP. I'll probably switch to a dual ear E36 cover for additional strength which will mean messing with the pickup anyway, but I've removed the plug from the Z3 loom just in case now I've seen this.
