Pretty sure I've fitted this the wrong way round:

When looking at the front of the car at the gearbox, does that flange rotate anti-clockwise or clockwise when the car moves forward?

Flange rotates the same way as the engine (except in reverse), which is clockwise from the front of the car, or anticlockwise from the rear looking forwards.
Guibos usually have arrows on the rim, adjacent to each bolt hole. These holes must point towards the flange they are bolted to.
