BMC Airbox.
Has anyone got this fitted?? If so, is it any good? Is it a worthwhile investment? Is it something I should get for my M3?
I have spotted this little number on the Zone Shop and was wondering if it was worth parting with some of the folding stuff.......

I think the M3 design is very good as is, im not sure what gains you will get from this.

I have no complaints about the standard setup, just interested to know if anyone has done this to their M3 or had experience of an M3 with one, and what their opinons were? Anyone? Anyone?
If there is possible power to be gained, then it is worth investigating! You can never have TOO MUCH POWER!!! As proved by Bugatti
Or maybe a nice noise to be had? Who knows?

I'm personally quite sceptical as to whether this would improve power on an M3. Maybe some top end power is there to be had but its a bloody expensive experiment!
Most of the people who buy this product buy it for looks and noise. BMC claim it does add power but I am yet to see any proof of this. It certainly works well on cars like the Honda Civic Type R though but that might be down to the fact that the origional airbox is crap.
BMC on a 328i makes a fair bit of difference but again the standard airbox is quite restrictive.
If you can make it down to bexley motorworks and are prepared to pay 25 quid for a before and after test on one your most welcome!

Be interesting to put it to the test though...it might you never know!
I reckon an ITG filter type setup would defo give top end gains.....cheap aswell.
