Hi there... currently about 80% of the way through my project.

I've fitted the e36 m42 engine... wiring is a pain but nearly there... I've yet to put the propshaft back on but when I put the car into gear... for example 3rd... the gear knob is really.pressed against the housing like it's too far back ? Any help would be appreciated.

Bushes... what size is the anti roll bar bush on the 316i?? How do I even measure...

Thanks in advance.

Edit... I ment 4th gear. 3rd gear looks like it should be in neutral.

Assuming your car never came with m-technic suspension then the roll bar (front only) will be 18.5mm. To double check you can try sliding on an 18mm followed by a 19mm spanner.

It would be well worth looking for a set of larger roll bars, m-technic were 20mm front and 14.5mm rear. Even a 20 front and 12 rear would be a good improvement.

Its personal preference but many use poly to replace the rubber bushes as they last longer and the rubber can be harder to fit.
