My 325i vert has a stiff box (ooh er mrs!) in the morning when cold, notchy and hard to "get it in".

When warm, its fine - clutch is noisy so could well be that adding to the mix - but what's everyone put in their "box"?

Bentley says 80 non-hypoid but you can use SAE 20/30/40 depending on temps, if you want to.

Opinions?

Assuming that this is not just a clutch problem, then filling your 'box with ATF (Dexron II or III) will likely provide a cure. Only downside is that the 'box will rattle a bit more.
