Mileage wasn't moving so replaced the gears, I knew it wasn't going to work as the gears in there were fine and hand moving the gears showed no issues, so i went ahead with the gear swap.
As expected after the swap the mileage is still not working, what are my options now?
Thanks

Got me thinking now, no I'm sure its working.
Always thought it was a gear issue don't know what to do next.

Examine the soldering of the motor that drives the gears, and that of the pins that plug the speedo. circuit board into the main board, and if they are all OK, start looking for a second hand speedo. assembly.
