Hello, I'm thinking of getting back into E30 ownership and have found a tidy looking 318i cabriolet. Having had a 316i Touring and a 320i cabriolet before (which I eventually converted to 2.7) I was wondering what people's thoughts on a 318i were. Obviously not going to be the quickest but that doesn't matter as I want it for driving around in the sun and taking the family for local trips out.
It's a 1992 manual car and being the 4 pot is less heavy than a 6 pot which actually made quite a bit of difference in driving feel between my touring and cabriolet
Thoughts welcome

engines can be replaced for more power when you get bored , just make sure the shell is good.
If you can get it on a local ramp when viewing then even better , the other expensive bit is the foof .
take a small magnet and check all the hot spots for filler .
