Gave the replacement engine that Glenn very kindly fitted for me a good service yesterday, it had a slight misfire, so wanted to get it sorted.

Changed oil, filter, coolant, plugs, dizzy, rotor arm, timing belt, tensioner, water pump, viscous, rocker gasket, 2 temp sensors and the thermostat.
Got to say, looks like the engine has been a little neglected, oil was black, viscous was date stamped 1988, rotor arm was starting to disintegrate, and was also stamped 1988, dizzy looked worse for wear, was stamped 1994, plugs looked like they'd been fitted since 1901, and the timing belt was very loose 8O !

In all, glad I did it when I did, and the car drives 100% now!
Feels like I've gone from a 2.0 to a 2.3 and now it feels like a 2.5 should!

Yes mate, I did, it wasn't that cold after on Monday night so no worries there, I went out for a spin in it though at about midnight just to make sure!

Simon - you mentioned a great list of service parts for the 325i, and for Ԛ£160....is that a 'special pack' you can order from there, or order them individually ??

All of the above was ordered from GSF, and included delivery, the only thing on the list which I didn't buy from GSF was oil and the viscous as I had one here already, so add Ԛ£30 if you want a new viscous.

There is no service pack BTW, I just bought them all seperate.
