I have a completly standard 1990 320i convertible with 70,000 miles on the clock. The front shocks are on there way out and the rears are not far behind. What should I replace them with that is a: good and b: does not alter the ride height?

Also is there anything else I should think about replacing while i'm at it?

Shocks do not affect ride height. There are a few sets of front and rear standard shocks on ebay at the moment...

Try Boge shocks from ECP - very very good.

If you want the best then gop for the Bilstein Sport shocks - these can be fouind at ECP or through E30zone shop a bit cheaper.

I am now very confused.

Looking at the different shocks available I see that they either fit 51mm Shock Insert or 45mm Strut Housing. What fits a 320i Cab?

Also, looking at the ECP site they list FRONT SPORT BMW E30 316-320i
SHOCK INSERT SPORTS (BILSTEIN) for Ԛ£23.41 but in the E30Zone shop they sell for Ԛ£82.99. Not sure what it means by Shock Insert.

And again on the ECP site the list Boge/Sachs 51mm Shock Inserts.

Thx, Tony
