evening guys probably been asked before , but what are the problems with trying to fit lhd manifold to an IS ...thanks John

Overlaps the space already claimed by the steering shaft.

Metal can be bent, metal can be reshaped, and metal can be cut and rewelded, so it's possible. I have no idea how much interaction between steering and manifold there is in this application, so I can't comment on whether it's economically viable or not.
Before you go ahead, you ought to consider whether you might want to upgrade to a faster E36/46/Z3 steering rack at some time, which will move the steering shaft's position, and make a manifold modified for an E30 rack useless.
