Hi I'm trying to get a colour match for my 1989 chromie. The plate on the engine bay says its Alpineweiss II. Code 218.

I got a can of BMW alpine white 2 code 218 made up on a Holts colour machine to cover some past botched stone chip repairs. unfortunately it's more cream coloured than the white on my car. The car is original colour (I.e. Not been resprayed), is it just a case that the colour has faded in the last 27 years.

Any advice on where I go now to get the colour I need. Also any idea on how much a full respray will cost?

it could be there are more than 1 shade available in that colour code,,, maybe , just maybe u could get accurate colour from bmw dealers,,, i got a spray can from them £14, but not white.
resprays costs vary with different sprayers , i had an exceptional job done by e30 specialist in n.e london a while back, il pm number if u want. :)

Try taking the car to your nearest Jawel paints and see if they have some sample chips to compare against your car. the can make up an aerosol to match.

This colour is extremely hard to match with a spray can trust me I've tried a few different ones!!!! If your getting it resprayed anyway just spray something on it to protect it don't just leave it primer though as some primers are porous and hold moisture. ......a proper respray will be around £1500 ish for a decent job. ..
