genuine pina 2.7 lump??

how do you tell a genuine alpina c2 (86)2.7 engine from another m20 variant?from the outside,some do have the normal cast manifold on exhaust dont they???

theres alpina numbers on the block and head. On the block on passenger side should be C2 27. My ALpina block has this stamped on it

if its an early on the rocker cover shud be black/grey, the inlet manifold will be silver, the later engines had them black.

as si states shud b 4 digit number engraved in the block and head
