Hello,

I have use 4.10 diff now it is quick and reach 2000rpm very fast so 1 gear is useless, and at 2000rpm it only 85km hour.

I need to change to 3.73 diff but it is really difficult to find it here, may be impossible.

The one that I can get here is 3.91 small from m10.

Does 3.73 to 3.91 has much difference? Or should I stay find 3.73?

And does is it difficult to dismantle diff, I need to dismantled it so easily to send. And anyone have ever weight the 188 diff shell body only?

Thank You
Markus

You can use something like this

http://www.endtuning.com/gearratios/

to see how 4.10 and 3.91 diff ratios alter max speed in each gear

What engine and gearbox is this for?
4.1 to 3.9 is only about a 5% difference, so you're not going to see a massive change, whereas going to 3.73 is a much more noticeable 10%.
Easy enough to take the crown wheel/ output shaft/main bearings out, as long as the number and position of the shims is carefully noted. Don't touch the pinion and its bearing - it has a collapsible bush associated with it, which needs knowledge and skill to set the correct amount of crush.

Thank you Brian. This diff cost alp
A lot. Does is it worthy to change it?

May be for fuel efficiency or top speed in highway? Or any other advantages?
