Setting up headlamp aim DIY?

Afternoon All,
Been a while since I was last on here, but finally got the old cab out of the garage and put it through its MoT last Friday. Among other easily fixable things, it failed on headlamp adjustment being too high.

Does anyone know how to set these up yourself? I know the garage would do it for me, but I'd like to have a go myself. I know where the adjusters are (all manual on mine), but need to know the pattern I'm aiming for on a blank wall.

Dead level ground, drive up to a wall. Switch dipped beams on, mark centre of 'break points' (centre of shallow V pattern) on the wall, back away from the wall, dead straight, 4.8m.
The break points must now be between 24mm and 96mm below and to the left of the original marks. Sometimes helps to stick a sheet of ply or cardboard in front of one light, so that you can look at one at a time.

Thanks as always for the prompt and straight forward answer. I'll need to find somewhere I can back up 4.8m on level ground as my drive slopes away.

The 4.8m isn't essential - it's just that my ramp, which is dead level when it's down, is 4.8m from the end of the workshop, so that's the figure I have handy.
You can go pro ratia - between 12mm and 48mm at 2.4m, 36mm - 134mm at 7.2m, etc., however the shorter the distance the less accurate it becomes, and the greater the distance, the dimmer the light becomes. 4.8m is a reasonable compromise IMHO.
