Hey guys, Ive had a good look but can't find anything....

Can anyone tell me what would be the correct hand brake handle and gaiter for an 89 sport?

Ive just ordered a one piece gear stick from cotswolds and I'm looking to do the handbrake next but not sure what to order?

Pics would help. :D :D

Thanks.

AFAIK, only two versions of E30 handbrake cables - those for drum rear brakes, and those for rear discs. It would be a very suspect 'Sport' that had rear drums.

Sorry Brian, I may not have been clear.

Im looking for the correct handbrake lever cover and handle.

I just wanted to know what the car would have left the factory with:

Plastic handle and rubber concertina boot / cover, or if there is a genuine leather handle and gaiter I don't know about.

Thanks

There was a leather handbrake handle option and they're readily available on ebay and maybe still from the dealer too. Not sure if there was ever an original leather gaitor for a sport but maybe I'm wrong on that one.

Ok, so I've been searching for a while now (nice quiet day in work)

I just found this photo on bss325i's build thread: I hope he doesn't mind me using it as reference. A properly standard sport is a rare thing to find, even on here!

The car has 37,000 miles, so I assume, its pretty damn original.

It has the "standard" rubber + plastic hand brake fitted :D

I think that answers my question, and unless someone can say otherwise I think this thread is closed.

For reference, there is a genuine leather set up, part number: 34412237573

Going off what another member has said, it looks like this was fitted as standard to certain convertibles and m3's.

(which I'm happy about! cotswold quoted almost £300 for one 2 years ago!)

Thanks brianmoooore, Cloggy Saint and bss325i for uploading the above photo :)
