Changing the belt at water pump for the
First time.
Do I need to go for any specific brands?
If so what is the best to go for?
Thanks

When putting the water pump in, do use a smear of blue hylomar (silicon) on the gasket, the paper gasket doesn't always seal first time and you'll be pulling it apart again.
Also when changing the timing belt, once the old one's off, crank the cam pulley a half tooth clockwise to seat the belt in the tooth groves, once it's seated crank the cam back to TDC. It'll mean you get the belt tension spot on. Did this on my 320 and 325i and never had an issue unlike when a garage did it and didn't tension the belt properly.. jumped 6 teeth and 6 exhaust valves later..
