I swapped a E36 2.8 motor with manual Gearbox and Siemens DME MS41.0 from a donor Coupé sourced in the UK, into my 84 E30 323i.
I have sorted out most gremlins, but am now wondering how to cancel these error codes:
D9 CAN bus no EGS transmission
34 Solenoid valve exhaust flap
64 DME control unit self test
44 Tank ventilation valve electrical fault
Errors D9 and 64 flummox me and I am not sure if there is a cure ?
Error 34 should be fixable by inserting a resistor on pin 52 of the ECU which triggers this flap. What would the impedance (resistance) of this be ?
I do have the Tank ventilation valve but would just like to throw it out, as we have no emissions testing in Africa. Anybody got a idea on how to eliminate that or on how to hook it up so it sees the signals it wants ?
I am not sure if these errors influence the cars driveability or power output ?
But I am assuming they would trigger the CEL. and I'd like a CEL
How do you hook upo a CEL in this conversion, as the DME seems to have no such output ?
I hope this question does not duplicate someone elses, as trawling the net for answers did not help.
