Using the E36 auxiliary fan from your donor car is pretty cheap! Cowling needs hacking about but it can be made to fit, is very effective and has 2-speed capability already wired in with a resistor to suit.

It's a heavy old thing though - so I swapped to a cheap 16" one from ebay. Slim and lightweight and it does do the job - it's just nowhere near as effective as the E36 one
