hi guys
quick question, just found my hanbrake pins are all bent up and not holding the shoes in place, unfortunately i cant get the replacement bits untill wed.
so the question im asking is, would it cause any damage and i dont see how it can if i just drive the car with only one side with a handbrake. ive obviously taken the other damaged shoes and pins out.

Car will be 'unroadworthy' as far as the law is concerned, but other than that nothing should hurt as long as you've taken the expander mechanism and the pin that holds it to the cable end as well.
In theory, the cable could then come free from the hub, but they're usually well rusted in.
I'd avoid using the handbrake as well.
Your next problem will be why the pins have come adrift. Assuming they haven't been dislodged by too long aftermarket wheelbolts, the usual cause it that the backplate has rusted where the pins locate. There are ways of solving this, ranging from small nuts and bolts, using certain parts from a drum brake set up, through to fitting new backplates.

thanks for the quick reply, yes the pin seems to have dislodged the got stuck causing it to bend, the other side was loose as well but i reinstalled it and used a c clip to secure the pin.
