Howdy folks

Have not been here in a while.......
Two questions.

1- How exactly does one fit 885 cams onto 731 head?
Is it just swapped over?
What modifications are required to make it fit...I've read that it's a simple 'upgrade' for the 731 head as it's slightly more lift/duration. Please be specific as I need to relay this to the machinist. Much appreciated in advance.

2- while I'm at it, I wish to have the cam reground (plenty for sale online so it must at least work right!?). The crank place confirmed that they'd have to use one of their 'masters' @272 to bring the stock 731 cam to such specs.
The question is if this is advisable versus just swapping in an 885 cam with the standard @252? (I don't have a master Schrick cam to give them)

The 320 ran fine but would overheat soon after (within 10 minutes or less). All else seemed normal other than the overheating caused by the headgasket ie cranking idle acceleration etc. ....for a bit of a background. And yes, this is preceded by confirming whether the head is cracked or warped beyond repair due to the overheating. The question is assuming all is fine and that the head can be salvaged.
