My brake pad light keeps flickering on the instrument cluster. I've checked the front and rear wear sensor and they are fine. I've checked the two soldered joints that hold a large 220 ohm resistor on the cluster itself, I've also changed the resistor thinking it could be that, also changed the SI board with good batteries, as well as checked the condition the brass nuts on the back of the fuel gauge and temp gauge. Can anyone please help?

I think the wiring at wheel side can degrade internally over time from movement and become brittle without showing wear on the outside. Someone else may be able to correct me/ offer more info but think that may be a possible cause. Good luck.

Check that the wiring from a sensor isn't rubbing on the inner surface of a wheel rim when it's in place.
Never come across any case of copper wire 'work hardening' on an E30, other than the speedo. wire to the diff., but there's always a first time, I suppose. A good pull on any suspect wire should turn a flickering light into a permanent one, if this is the case.
