Is it coolant or rain water?

If rain water check the elephants trunk on the bulkhead in the engine bay is not blocked.

If coolant check the heater matrix.

Also worth checking the seal on the rear windscreen. Water can run down inside the seal and the underneath the parcel shelf and down into the carpet.

Thanks for the info,I think I found the elephant trunk pipe you were talking about,I presume it's the one that comes out the bulkhead on the drivers side.I pushed a small screw driver up it and about half an egg cup full of water came out, could this have been the problem?and also where does that pipe come from?

Elephant's trunk drains the centre section of the scuttle box. If it doesn't drain, water overflows into the heater fan intake, and drips from the bottom of the heater box.
