Right, when you grab the backrest on both my front seats, you can rock it foward, moving the base as well. It seems to be pivoting on the little pin type arrangements that attatch the seat to the runners, im aware the frame may need stripping down and welding in places, which i will get onto in the future, but can these pins be replaced? it almost as if the've become to small for their holes hence being baggy and causing play.

(Btw the large brass screws holding the backrests on are tight).

Are the catches on both seat runners engaging properly?

its not the pins that have shrunk, bit the holes in which they reside that have enlargened, causing the general sloppieness.

i have the same problem, and although that the backrest and seat base are in a good way, they both seem slightly sloppy/detached from the runners, becasue of their joints to the base which is tte pins you mention

you need a set of seats to rob this lower assembly of to cure the problem i think..at least this is what i plan to try with mine

let us know if you do solve it though as like i said, i need to sort mine out sometime soon
