ZF Gearbox Selector Problem?

Evening all,

Went to fit my gear linkage tonight and when connected up and trailed the gear stick sits completely over the right.

Where a normal gear linkage naturally rests between 3rd and 4th, mine sits between 5th and what would be 6th (5 speed box).

I've tried swapping over between the e36 and e30 linkages, including rotating the small connector (with the pin going through it) on the box itself.

It almost seems like the box has an internal problem, but I drove the donor car and it felt really good?

I can't get my head round it, any help would be greatly appreciated!

Think I may have found a solution, if any one ever has the same problem and come across this.
