M20 running issues again

1983 ljet 320, crap idle and cuts out, cleaned everything, no air leaks, checked the icv works, plugs, fuel filter, still no joy, however I removed this vacuum pipe with it running and it's behaved, what's the answer gurus

If that's one of the vacuum advance/retard pipes for the distributor, then maybe your timing's out?

It runs to the breather hose that comes off of the cam cover, I have fiddled with the timing and it runs better than it did.
