I was lucky enough to pick up an american M3 diff, 4.1 LSD.
It came from the orange LS1 engined M3 going around when he first imported the car and fitted a Rover V8, years ago; it's been sitting in a garage since I beleive. As a result the thing is totally clean on the outside. Still black with no rust or corrosion on alloy backplate. Wayne mentioned something about 30,000 miles iirc when I was buying it.
I have fitted an M Coupé diff bush and replaced the oil and it is now on my car (i'm loving it btw, transforms a 318is)
I'm now thinking of an M52B28 swap and would need a new diff so I'd like to know how much I could get for it so I can offset the cost??
I know these are rare and this one is in perfect condition, even the tag is un-corroded!
Any help much appreciated..
Jai
How much is my diff worth?

i recon the M3 4.1 slipper could be worth around the Ԛ£250ish-Ԛ£300 mark but if it's hardly done any miles and you have proof to back it up it'll be worth more than that
M50 Turbo!!!
I shall say no more

Ԛ£300 is reasonable, I think the pacemaker himself has one for sale.
I had mine rebuilt and was just happy to swap it for a 3.91+postage costs as it wasn't suitable for my car.

I'd be just as happy if I could just swap this diff for one that's suitable..
For an M52 conversion or a S52 (I'm dreaming) which would be ideal?
Obviously must be an LSD, since getting one I couldn't go back! The car is so much more drivable.
I understand the M coupé and the 2.8 Coupe have Torsen type diffs instead of clutch types, lovely as these would give better torque biasing in corners.. Rare though I imagine and I have no idea if they are suitable.
Any thoughts?

Sorry, this isnt much help, but if you ever do get round to selling it instead of a swap, i'd be very interested
