Hi team,

As the titles says. 1984 323i H23 (L-Jet)

Replaced fuel pump, filter and relay but still not getting fuel to flow.

How do you test to see if power is getting to the pump?

Anything else I should look at?

Cheers

George

Thanks heaps,

Fuse 11 ok (put new one in anyway)

Bridged those pins and tester lit up but no pump sound.

Put tester on pump and no light .... at least I know its at the pump !

Unhooked wires at pump .....No light on wire feeding pump..

Thanks again, I'm getting close now.....

Sounds like a 12v interruption between the fuse and the pump - dodgy alarm wiring? Run a wire from battery + direct to the pump and ensure the earth is good. If the pump runs, refit the relay OR make up a three legged link for 30, 87 (injectors) and 87b.

Remove the glove box liner and search out the plain green wire.
This should run from the ign switch to the switch side of the coil, passing through the engine loom plug and a plug/socket behind the glovebox, this latter connection is used to break the wire for an alarm.....

She's Alive !

It was a dodgy solder on th a that wire after all.... but the break was behind the dash/under the steering wheel.

Thanks gents - much appreciated.

Now I can get it to the wheel aligner after fitting my Z3 rack !
