Is there anything that needs to be done to the engine with it haveing been from a auto
Just any general info and help and what gearbox part number do I need as I've looked are there are loads about

You'll have to do a mod to the loom as some pins on the c101 are earth or live depending which engine and year etc
Depending which engine you have the crank pickup could be on gearbox side so you'll need the coresponding flywheel
The m20 tps is different for auto and manuals (think I have a spare one you can have)
I've nearly finished my turbo conversion and I got a 6 paddle clutch to help with the power

You'll need an M20 spigot bearing as well as the above. The plug for the manual tps can be handy as they are different.

As hinted at above, it's essential that you check out the "warning" near the bottom of this page before turning the ignition on for the first time: http://www.e30zone.net/e30zonewiki/inde ... Swap_-_M20
M20B20 and M20B25 flywheels are the same.
M20B25 clutch assembly can take much more than the standard 170 BHP.
Gearbox can be E30 320i or E30 325i and needs matching prop. 325i is stronger, 320i has better ratios.
Manual gearbox crossmembers are all the same.
Auto TPS is different, and has different socket, but as long as you use the auto loom with matching plug this makes no difference. If you are going to change the engine management at some time for use with a turbo, the auto TPS may be an advantage.
Only engine mod. is to fit a spigot bearing in the end of the crank. Check that the centre bore of this matches the input shaft of the gearbox you use.
316 diff. will connect up and work, but is weak and far from an ideal ratio.
