I need a spray can of Brilliant Red code 308.
Not easy to find but Halfords can mix me a tin....problem is they say there are 3 different Brilliant reds, one for under the bonnet and 2 others which have a different composition and slight colour difference.
If I remember correctly the codes for these 2 paints are 3865 and 3865L. They may be Holts codes as that's the system they use.
Does anybody have any idea how to determine which one I want?
Just touching up a tiny bit of front mudflap damage.
Thanks,
Jon.

I've not got good reports about halfords paints.

Try paint4u.com

The paint code may have a 308/? The question mark should be a single digit which is the shade of 308 your car is painted. Ie 308/1

Your local accident repair centre is a better bet that halfords.

Doesn't really matter what shade it was painted twenty odd years ago. If it's red, it will have faded from the original, and will vary over the surface of the car.

does your car still have the paint code sticker on the nearside turret..?
if it does, the shade will be the digit after the '308/?'

Many thanks for your input.
There is indeed a digit after the 308, it's 308/3.......I'll see if that helps.
