The display on my OBC has recently started to flicker, the display itself is fine with no bleed but just starts randomly flickering quite fast until I press the time or temp button, this usually stops it.
Any ideas what may be causing this and how to cure.
I was thinking about opening it up and spraying with contact cleaner.

Might be the first signs of capacitor problems, seems a lot of obcs are dying because of this.
have a search and there is a load of info I put up about it.

It sounds like a capacitor problem to me as well, but not necessarily the same one (but could be) that failed on HairyScreech's one, and I doubt if it's actually blown its top yet.
It's the kind of thing you get when a decoupling capacitor loses most of its capacitance and a low frequency oscillation takes place, which you see as a flicker.
There shouldn't be very many electrolytic capacitors in the OBC, and it might be worth changing all of them if you gone to the bother of stripping it down.
