Hi Guys,

Happy new years eve by the way.

I have been reading lots of posts about suspension setups and what choice shocks and springs. And of course I have read the wiki but still a bit unsure about the choice of shocks and springs to go for.

So I have a 318 which is getting a full rebuild so will be getting the 51mm struts. By the way is it possible to buy them new or is it ridiculously expensive? And looking at a rear axle and trailing arms from the touring. I will be using it as a daily driver and eventually hope to get a few track days out of it as I will be dropping the m52b28 in, however, I have decided against polybushing anything.

I know that everyone suggests the b4 dampers but looking at the bilstein website it seems the the b4 is standard spec and the b6 and b8 are supposed to be more of a sport spec with better damping pressure etc. I have read that the b6 and b8 are the same but just different ride heights? Since the lowering of the car is purely cosmetic I would like to keep the OEM ride height so b6 is the best one to go for? What about the springs? I have read on other forums that the eibach springs sag? Also do they come in OEM ride height or does the car have to be lowered if I want to use the eibach or h&r springs? Looking at the wiki they used Ireland engineering springs for the rear. I wanted to get the best performance upgrade but keep it as OEM as possible.

Also was looking at the eibach arb kit - the wiki suggests using the Mondeo drop links but is that if you are using the OEM arb? Drop links that come with the eibach kit are better? Also is there a standard bush kit as opposed to pollybushed? Everything on eBay seems to be poly.

Is it worth getting that kit off eBay for front and back so all bushes are already fitted as I dont have a press to get them in..

Sorry for so many questions but I think I have been reading too much and am a bit confused now.

Any advice would be much appreciated

Cheers
Seenan
