Hi,
After just getting the e30 which was running fine, I took the head off to have new valve stem seals etc. I have put it back together now and there seems to be no spark or fuel.
Previously I has installed a new fuel pump.
So to start with I bypassed the fuel relay to prove the pump works which it did, I then tested the relay this was ok.
After I realied there was also no spark, (I took a spark plug out and rested against an earth point and there was nothing)
So I then tested the coil which was fine.
This made me start to wonder if it was linked. So I changed the cps thinking this was the cause but after firing it tonight there is no change.
I have also checked the automatic gearbox inhibit switch which is ok.
Does anyone have any idea I feel like I'm going in circles?
Cheers

First things to check are that the engine management system is receiving its two power supplies - 12 volts permanent live, and 12 volts ignition live.
The permanent live has already been checked, since you say you checked the fuel pump by linking out the relay. The ignition live needs to be checked at the coil + terminal, by ensuring a 12 volt bulb lights when connected between this terminal and a good body earth, when the ignition is switched on and when the engine is cranking.
