Hi All,
Starting a Christmas project next week and I'm looking for a definitive answer please......

Are the rear trailing arms of my e30 325 all steel or cast or a mix?

The reason I ask is I'm converting the rear to full grp4 bilstiens and I'm looking at reinforcing the arms as it's a rally car

Cheers all![/b]

The hub section is cast steel, and the V shaped section is pressed sheet steel. So they are all good for welding.

The thing to remember when doing the welding , get a really good fit up with the strengthening bits, because they will want to distort, be particularly careful with the bracing between the legs as they will want pull together.

You will end up bending them before they get on the car :D

Good luck

Thanks for the advice! I thought the outer part seemed cast alright, when ya look real closely you can see a seam weld alright an the material changes between the arms an the hub.

Thanks again an il stick up a few pics when I get it done.
