Just a quick question regarding the nuts that hold the exhaust manifold on ,the car is a 325i .
Would it be better to use a nut splitter on them or play Russian roulette with a spanner .

Spray some kind of lubricant on them, a day before removal if possible.Nut splitter should
be your last resort.

Spray a rust releaser on them as above, but don't apply enough torque to your spanner or socket when trying to undo them to shear them off! Most should undo, but if any prove stubborn, get the splitter on them.
Run the engine before trying to undo them. This will make the stud more likely to unscrew in the head.

Just to add, use a good 6 sided socket when possible.
