Right, I'm a bit confused about the whole matter so I need some clarification.
The ECU plugs for the engine and trans (I won't be using the auto part of the loom since I pair it with a manual box) is on the passenger side of the car. I'm under the assumption that's correct for an E34 harness.
Should I just open the wiring box and re-arrange the wires to change the plug's location to the driver's side and mount in the standard ECU location next to the steering wheel?
Is there anything I'm missing?

LHD?
The RHD loom is not long enough to get the ECU into a reasonable position under the dash

It's RHD. So I'll either have to change the harness or house it in the engine bay then?
