I've ordered a Spigot bearing from and M20 using the part number off real OEM. However it doesn't fit over the end of the output shaft.
What is the correct part number of the spigot bearing i need?
Thanks in advance
M42 GEARBOX, SPIGOT BEARING.

What's the diameter of your spigot shaft?
Yup. Measure the shaft diameter to be sure of the size needed. I think its either 12mm or 15mm iirc.davelarge wrote:I was lead to believe the spigot bearing has to match the box you are using, not the clutch/flywheel. I need to order mine soon so please correct me if im wrong.

In theory (after checking many part numbers!), the M42 could have either a 12mm or 15mm bearing - the changeover date is Sept '90.
Afaik, the M20 only used the 12mm. So if your M42 box came from an iS built from Sept '90 it should have the 15mm shaft meaning an M20 sized bearing wouldn't fit.
But in practice, I always measure the shaft diameter as I've been caught out before - my 318i is listed as using a 15mm bearing but it actually needed a 12mm... who knows if its still got its original gearbox.
