I want to drive my e30 up onto wheel ramps, but the wheel ramps just jump out of the way when the wheel hits the ramp. I can put the car up on the trolley jack and then drop it down on the ramps or axle stands, but this negates the point of the ramps. Is there a trick to stop them jumping out?

6" wide x 30" strip of carpet. Fold it in half, wrapped around the first rung of the ramp.

by first rung you mean the first rung that the wheel will hit?

The first rung of the ramp - the one nearest the ground. Lay the loose ends of the carpet back along the ground in front of the ramps, so that the wheels run on to these first.
