I'm going to replace the rubber guibo in the steering linkage, but before I do that, just wanted to make sure I've got the right part number?

The car is a 1990 325i with P/S.

Here's what I'm looking at > http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do ... g=32&fg=30

So the part that I need is no 3, correct? (32 31 1 153 993)

Also I noticed that mine doesn't have regular nuts and bolts holding it, but it looks like this:

So I'm assuming I will need to buy new bolts/nuts/washers as well? (items 6, 7 and 10 in the diagram)

By the way, what happened to Cooper BMW Parts website? (http://www.cooper-bmw-parts.co.uk/)

It was great for checking the availability and price of the parts before ordering anything, but now it's been in maintenance for quite a few months...Any alternative for checking BMW parts prices online?

Would be good to know how much that UJ guibo is...

Thanks :)

I found FEBI one on Ebay for 18 quid, so that's one option...

Any advantages of an solid aluminium one over the OEM rubber?

One less thing to potentially wear out, and a more direct steering feel, although the Zone Wiki claims the rubber one is designed to reduce noise travelling up the steering column:

Cheers Maurice, my steering linking is the same as the OP..how do you get to the guibo?..as it is riveted into place”¦assume you can just drill them out?

Ive scoured the wiki and could not see a guide..is there a guide?
