How easy or how hard is it to fit a crank sensor on M52 in an e30, do you need to get under the car?

Easy enough. Getting under the front of the car helps with visibility & access. Once the old one is out, give the hole & bracket a little rub with emery cloth to get rid of any crud buildup and the new one will slot in nicely!

Edit: if levering the old one out with a screwdriver, be very very careful not to damage the bracket!

Easy really if you got a ramp. Take off the oil filter top to access the loom plug and have someone with skinny arms to hand if you got big arms you wont get under the manifold for the plug
