Just discovered the fuel tank is leaking on my 318 touring, looks like it's split along the seam. Only discovered due to my wife filling it right up!

Now with the prop bearing to do and all the rear end bushes needing an overhaul, makes sense to do it all at the same time with a big ol' ass in the air and remove everything approach.

I've read the Wiki, and it doesn't seem like too bad a job to tackle.

I've got my eye on another car for a donor, I was looking at it anyway for other parts but if the tank is good that's one more good reason to get it.

Other than that there's new ones for about £150 on ebay.

Is there any aftermarket plastic tanks? or is I go second hand, I'm thinking any rust treat and coat the whole thing in stone-guard? or what's the recommended paint/coating to use?

Anything else I should be looking at?

Takes half a day to swap a fuel tank,I would not consider a s/h tank unless I was convinced that it was less than a year old.
