Does any one know what part this is?

This is for a mk2 golf 1.3 carb model. Ive even asked on the vwforum but they give me difference answers and i cant seem to find it as I need a replacement. in the haynes its called a fuel resevoir but doesnt come up anywhere is it a different name could I use another alternative??

I think it is fitted to help prevent vapour lock. I am fairly sure it can be bypassed with no ill affect. I assume it has three pipes ? If so, fit a 'Y' piece between the three hoses and see what happens. I think it will be fine.

Cheers Pete!!! Yes it does have three pipes....one for fuel pump...one for inline fuel filter and one goes to the carb....ill give it shot....ecpp or no one does it all !!
