hello,

Can I use my m40 propshaft to m20 engine with getrag 240 or getrag 260 and medium size diff?

or I should buy m20 propshaft? that may be shorter or longer?

thank you

Difference in the propshaft's is in the front section.
240 'box is shorter than 260,so the 260 prop front section is the shortest of all.

M40 engine sits further forward than M20,so it's prop front section is longer than either of the 6 cylinder one's.

Both half's of the propshaft should have a white alignment dot,if this is missing then align the two parts with the yokes in the same plane, this limits the available positions to just two!

I would guess that depends on how good a welder you are.

It will almost certainly loose balance if you cut and weld, but there's a DIY trial and error method of balancing propshafts:
Put two jubilee clips around it, and experiment with their position. With the two worm assemblies opposite each other they will have no effect, and with them both on the same side, they will have maximum effect, and everything in between.
