Anyone know how far into the arches both front and rear wheels travel?

I'm on coilovers and I dont want to be stupid low and stretch tires so I'm trying to work out how much room I have with my wheels before I get into trouble.

Would a daily driven cars suspension at the rear end up on bump stops on a regular basis? Would the top of the rim make it up into the wheel arch?

Likewise with the front how far up does the wheel travel before you start kissing the ground with the sump?

Very good question but i guess it would depend on what shocks/bump stops you have on at the front and the rear is controlled by the cones.

Might be worth compressing your springs on the car with some spring compressors and seeing where the wheel sits but jacking the wheel up into the arch.

From the sump scrapers i see and the few track e36s i play about with i would assume pretty damn far. (yes i know the e36 is different but its not THAT different.)

I'm running bc coilovers.

The shell is to light at the min to jack her up but I removed the spring and this is as far as the wheel will go before the cone hits the little bump on the other perch

I've been looking online and there's e30 that are as low as this and that with the rear not compressed.

I think I just need to finish the touring, get the borbets on at a height I'm happy with, get the rear tracking done and then see how I am for room. I'd like 16x9" with a 225/45 with the hartges but ET5 is a bit tight (borbet is ET15).
