Are the wires for the tweeters already there?
I don't think they're there but I'm not sure.

Should be there, taped up just under the top edge of the door card. Other ends are near the speakers in the foot wells.

Even if it never originally had them?
They on the same circuit as the central locking?

You need a high pass filter to lock the lower frequencies from reaching the tweeters.
In the OE set up, this was just a capacitor mounted on the matching footwell speaker. IIRC, it was a 6.8uF bipolar electrolytic type, connected in series with one of the tweeter wires.

Are you talking about fitting the tweeters, or the capacitor? Fitting the tweeters takes less than a minute each side. Just prise off the black plastic triangle where the tweeters fit, push the crimps that are on the wires onto the tweeters and push into place. If you can open a yoghurt pot you are able to do this
If it ain't broke, fix it till it is

My previous post was a joke.
Why the capacitor?
Think I already got 1 on the power lead if it's a black box.

Black box is probably a (unnecessary) filter in the power feed.
Connect the tweeters up without the capacitors (like the idiot who fitted the ICE in my red touring did ) and they will have a very short life.

Alternatively, get some new speakers for the footwel that come with the tweeter and it will have the filter included in the set. Then butcher the tweeter pod by removing the old original tweeter and glue in the new one.
