I'm about to buy a e30 318 that has had a e30 2.5 engine put in it. Now I'm gonna want more power (who doesn't) and have a budget around £1000-1500. Should I tune the current engine or transplant a new lump from an E36 325/8? Which will give me more bang for my buck and is it even achievable on my budget? If it's the E36 route is there anyone out there that can do it for me if I get the parts? Or even anyone out there that can supply and fit? I'm based in Gloucester.
PS if anyone has an E30 with a M50/2 already done and is looking to sell then give me a shout. My max budget is £3500-4000

Cheers guys n girls

It will cost you 3-4k to turn a 318 into a properly converted M52 engined car with the suspension/transmission/brakes etc that are needed
There are lots of lash ups out there too, so dont think by spending 3 or 4 bags on a 'converted' car you are saving time/money, as most of the time you will have to take it all apart and start again, as lots of people find out
