I've read the wiki guide to bushes not sure how much of that is applicable to my 1990 320i (sure it only has a front roll bar). Basically the bushes are next on my list to tackle. I've only had the rear subframe bushes done under my ownership and I'm going to assume that nothing else has been done for many a moon.
I'm starting out with the front roll bar drop link and the bush, as I've saw them last weekend when I took the wheels off and they look fooked! Where should I go from there? Any others that should be a priority?
Also Lemforders or BMW? I get staff discount at BMW which makes things cheaper, but is there a big difference in quality?
Thanks in advance

As far as I'm aware the likes of Lemforder make the bushes for BMW so you would be getting the same thing. Meyle and probably also Febi would be good alternatives. Personally I'd stay away from the dealers as they are most likely more expensive than getting good quality brand parts through a good motorfactors.
Check your engine and gear box mounts, front wishbone ball joints, the lollie pop bush on the front wishbone (get eccentric ones for more caster, M3 had these), if your lowered at all look into using rear for mondeo drop links on the front they are a little shorter, rear trailing arm bushes als and check all 4 top mounts as well

I've personally found Meyle stuff to be pretty poor. Lemforder/Febi are OEM manufacturers though and as Jozi says, are the same bushes you'll pay a premium for at the dealer.

Cheers guys. I'd be looking to go completely Lemforder then. Shame ECP only has a couple suspension mounts from them. I'll root around and see if they do engine mounts etc.

No personal experience, just what I've heard. Same with Lemforder/Febi. I've lemforder wishbones though and after a year or so the ball joint is a little lose. But all the febi stuff I have is still in boxes or on the car but no miles.Motorhole wrote:I've personally found Meyle stuff to be pretty poor.
