I've just got round to fitting my tweeters and found that one of them is dead
. I'm assuming it's knackered as there's not a whole lot that can go wrong with a speaker. Question is how can i remove the tweeter from the pod? It seems pretty well stuck in with no obvious way of getting it out.

The tweeter is just glued in. I just used some Meths i think, any kind of spirit should get it out by softening theglue.

I don't have a complete tweeter pod, but I do have a brand new tweeter that was removed from a pod (before fitting my MBquart tweeter).datourer wrote:i got the tweeter out & it's definitely dead. Can anyone recommend a suitable replacement, or better still has anyone got a (left side) tweeter and pod up for grabs?
It's made by a company called HEAS (made in Hungary) rather than the more common Nokia ones, but it's a genuine BMW tweeter so should be okay.
Send me a PM with your address and it's yours
You will obviously need to remove the old one from the pod, and this one will need some trimming to get it to fit neatly. I use black (colour not important) silicone sealant to hold the tweeter in the pods and never had one fall out.
Cheers,
Ian.
If it aint broke - Modify it...
