Ok I know it's been discussed many times but heard too much stuff about the front wheel not sitting in the centre of the wheel well. Am I right to say I need e36 m3 evo front hubs complete with brakes evo wishbones and esentric bushes? Will the e30 top mount work or do I need adjustable top mounts? Will non evo parts work?

MUST be E36 M3 Evo. Anything else will ruin your suspension geometry. Although you can keep the E30 top mounts.

You are correct, it all needs to be evo stuff with the eccentric wishbone bushes. iirc the struts can be off any E36 but I'm not sure - I used an E36 coilover instead.
Again, can't answer with regards to using factory top mounts. I use adjustables with a custom rose joint/sleeved nut as the E36 struts are M14 threaded as opposed to the M12 E30 strut.

I agree the wiki does say that but theres a guy on the R3vlimited forum who has the 5 stud setup but his top mounts are off centre as in the locating hole for the top of the strut is towards the bulkhead/windscreen.

Maybe he has modified an e36 evo top mount to fit for extra castor?
The usual way is as above, evo hubs, evo arms, e30 m3 or e36 3.0 m3 offset rear bushes, and the damper / coilover combo of your choice.
Some use oe mounts on e36 dampers, some re drill the turrets to use e36 mounts..
E36 m3 brakes are specific to the m3s. Both 3.0 and evo (3.2) use the same caliper. The 3.0 got normal vented discs, the 3.2 got posh two piece floating discs with alloy bells. The discs are interchangeable, you can run evo discs on 3.0 hubs, or if you wanted, 3.0 discs on evo hubs. Bare in mind, the proper evo discs are £250 - £300 a pair. Normal 3.0 discs can be had from all over the place for about £100 a pair.
Hardly surprising most evos use 3.0 discs these days
Standard e36 brakes won't fit m3 hubs, which means you need a minimum of 16in wheels, and even then whether they'll fit depends on the individual wheel design.
