Starter motor.

I had a strange fault with my starter motor,in the morning I get in try to crank the engine over but nothing apart from all the ignition lights but not stater motor.After about 5 mins it would suddenly jump into life but when I drive a couple of miles down the road and stop it would resart perfectly.so I had a brand new one fitted.That was last Friday,tonight after work I think it did the same thing again but only for split second.My question is this going to get worse and what's causing this fault.

Try cranking it from the diagnostic socket, and see if that ever fails. (What you should have done in the first place, instead of replacing what was probably a perfectly serviceable motor with a less reliable one.)
