Looks like dad is about to hang up his driving gloves now he has moved in with us,so I have his E46 to re-home.
318i more door in blue,T plate, just had a very expensive MoT and is taxed for the year.
Recent bills show work on the cooling system, those plastic elbow bits around the cylinder head.
But there's rusty bits on the rear arches and several scuffs/small dents all round the sorry turd.
What advice can you experts offer me on selling, please, and what sort of cash will it go for?

Anywhere between £500-800 depending on mileage and how tidy it is.
The years tax and test helps.

When I get a chance I'll take a few photo's,I was thinking in the area of £650/£700 myself.
Is a classified on Ebay the easy option to shift it from my back passage early in the New Year?
Think the mileage is around the 140k mark.

Far better than that Fiat shitheap she was driving.
Old E46's aren't worth a candle now. I bought a V reg 323i with MV1 alloys for £290 of Ebay. No doubt it'll need the same again to get it MOT's and useable!

Touring indeed ! The rest at that age / value are one medium sized issue away from China.
Yes they can be bought for £200 but NOT tidy usable ones with £200 worth of tax and a fresh MOT.
Get it paedo'd up and try an ebay classified at £750 with lots of flattering pics. As its free , there is no harm in putting it on Scumtree. The years tax and ticket will sell it, assuming it is tidy and presentable. Do this asap as cheap ready to go turdz are very saleable over the Christmas period.
DO NOT put ONO in the ad , they (the scum) will bid you anyway so no need to encourage it. The procession of flotsam will have you in tears and us entertained so be sure to share the tales of woe

A further thought, this turd is currently registered to dad's old address in Stafford, although the thing is currently sat in my back passage here in Lincoln, would I be best advised to get the V5c address changed before selling?

I wouldn't bother, as long as you have the V5 to sign over to it's new victimdaimlerman wrote:A further thought, this turd is currently registered to dad's old address in Stafford, although the thing is currently sat in my back passage here in Lincoln, would I be best advised to get the V5c address changed before selling?
How do you pronounce 'either'? I say 'either', but some say 'either'. Either is correct.

Pete suggested 'flattering' photo's!harry_p wrote:Looked very tidy in that pic.

I found buried in dad's 'household file' a report from the AA dated early November with the remark;
'Towed member's car out of a hedge and followed him home'
Dad has no idea what happened......
Please,when I get like him,will some-one shoot me?

Thing is, it's a 15 year old car. If it were a Mondeo it would have been cubed years ago.daimlerman wrote: Taken me a month of advertsbut the bloody thing went this morning to a nice couple from Grimsby for only £680

Still, at least it was 'the new shape'. I can't imagine the how grim selling an E36 would be now.
"I fort it was the new shape. I wanted a black one really but I'll get back to you pal"
No wonder breakers are full of tidy running cars.

Frankly,it seemed to be the 141k miles that was the deal breaker time and time again, but as Andy said,it was a 15 YO turd with very little going for it,except that things like the climate control still worked properly!
It's left a bloody great oil slick on me paving,as well!
